Ask Boomer Al
Issue #33, February 17, 2003
Dear Boomer Al
I’m a twenty-two year old female with a huge crush on a
nice and cute guy at work. He’s a few years older than me.
I’ve dropped hints to him about getting together and
dating but he still hasn’t asked me out.
I know he likes me. Do you think it’s OK for me to ask
him out?
Help Needed
Dear Help Needed
Asking a guy out is perfectly fine if you think you can
handle the rejection. I remember many years ago a nice
girl had an awful crush on me. Unfortunately, at the time
I had a crush on someone else. She felt humiliated and hurt
when I didn’t respond positively. I remember feeling so
badly about it.
I would have some concerns if the age difference were
significant. Yet I know many people do make it work regardless.
Let me give you something to think about. Men are naturally
competitive, even the quiet ones. Men also tend to really want
what they can’t have, so you may want to be a little harder to
get if you know what I mean. If he were to ask you if something
was wrong you have your answer.
Al
Dear Al
I’m on a bowling team with some great guys and we have a lot of
fun. The problem is one guy on the team smells so bad and has
bad breathe. Is there a nice way of telling him? He’s a nice guy
and we don’t want to hurt his feelings.
Thanks
Carl
Dear Carl
Perhaps the odiferous one uses bovine based products for daily
hygiene. It’s hard to imagine with the icy temps you guys live
with that dampness would be much of an issue.
Some people do come from families who find value in life aux
naturelle to be preferable over the invasiveness of skin and oral
solvents. Such individuals unfortunately diminished the pleasures
of social interaction for those of us addicted to the destruction
of all forms of personal bacterium.
Maybe at the next sleep over you might have a heart to heart with
the aromatic one? A caring friend would surely attempt. Until then
see if the bowlerdrome allows incense.
We dealt with it differently in the Navy, but that’s a different
story for another time.

_.·´¯)What's up with this?(¯`·._
I have been very listless and tired the last few weeks.
I know it hasn't made me the bell of the ball lately.
Perhaps it's the seven day a week schedule I've been
keeping trying to find the right home for the right
person. There are other issues also if I'm honest ...
and I'm always honest.
Ever notice how most of us are stuck between what we
must do versus what we want to do? If we could do what
we wanted to we definitely would have all too many
golfers and fishermen in the world don't you think?
If you could earn a living doing what you love to do
how great would that be? Some do you know.
War with Iraq seems about to happen. I feel that the
terrorist threat from this point on will be a constant.
I for one prefer to move the fight into their
neighborhood. I know it's an unpopular position with
some ... but I think we have no choice. 9/11 changed
the playing field forever I fear ... and Osama will
rue the day he woke us up from our slumber. Reagan
would have been less patient than "W" I suspect.
Ask Kadafi. Where has he been since? hmmmm ...
Did you notice where Rev Jackson was leading the anti-war
protest over in merry old England. The press has pretty
much ignored him here the last two years ... deservedly
I might add.
Just my opinion. Don't like it? So tell me off at ...

Success in life comes to those who are good at solving
problems, not becoming one. It's the essence of all
things marketing. So what can I do with this mortgaged
RV? :)
Have fun. It's later than you think.
