Issue 68; November 17, 2003

Dear Al
Have you seen the movie “Signs”? Do you have any info on crop circles?
Roger

Dear Roger
Are you waiting for my opinion to see how many thumbs up or down? I have read a few reviews and it seems it was a marginal bomb. There are several very effective techniques to create crop circles. First you start with a bad year for corn. That’s one of those years when it makes more sense to plow under than actually harvest. Then you hire one of those starving artists to draw you a plan. Actually you can buy plans on the Internet.

I think it’s a giant hoax as are about every alien visitor theory you ever read. The only aliens I know were born in New Jersey.

If you want to learn how just go to a major league baseball park in season and watch the grounds crew do their thing.

Dear Boomer Al
I’ve been married for over a year and things were going well until my husband starting acting jealous and possessive lately. I have given him no reason to be doing this. I’ve tried to discuss it with him but it doesn’t help. Please help!
Smothered

Dear Smothered
I would be surprised if this is really new behavior. If you dated long enough before getting married and he was prone to such behavior it would have shown itself. The conclusion has to be that either you ignored the behavior before marriage or something has happened recently to make him worry about you.

Perhaps you have a new friend who he knows has played around, or maybe he has heard talk of someone having an eye for you? Have you changed jobs and are now working with attractive people whom he sees as competition for your attention? It could be as simple as you commenting on how attractive someone is.

It is also possible that your husband has developed some anxiety issues that even he cannot fully explain. Unless you are concealing something I suggest your husband discuss this with his doctor. It is very possible he has developed a chemical thing that is beyond his control.

Once that has been addressed I think you should go to counseling as a couple. A sudden change in behavior for a person should never be ignored by the family. Sometimes the new behavior is a warning sign that something more serious may be going on.

If your husband refuses to get help I would discuss it with your family doctor and get his opinion. I would also keep this issue between you. You don’t need family and friends chiming in and further inflaming things.

Remember your vow was for better or worse. Marriage is a process and takes effort over a long period of time. Let me know how you are doing.

_.·´¯)What's up with this?(¯`·._

I see where Hillary Clinton is keeping a low profile. She will probably make sure nobody has a chance before it's over. She wants the way clear to run in 2008 against someone other than Bush

The NFL is getting interesting. Green Bay proved today that Tampa's problem is defensive line play. The Jets are starting their usual late season push, and the Vikings are trying to prove they are not paper tigers.

Oakland will lose four to drug issues, and Miami looked bad in beating Baltimore in overtime. Miami has no offensive line and no offensive creativity. As I write this Dallas is warming up in New England and I feel they will be tough but fall to the New England Patriots who have superior players, unless they come out flat after a bye. Cincy proved KC is human after all. Like we didn't know. Go Flutie!

The economy has had positive information four months in a row now. If it keeps up Bush is a lock. I think the voters need to wake up to what is happening in the Senate. I feel the way to cure things is to make some changes. The changes are coming in the next election.

I think Saddam is hiding in Syria. Time to go get him. I also feel OBL is in Pakistan. Well you know what I think.

Just my opinion. Don't like it? So tell me off at ...
